Porthcothan Bay
Porthcothan beach is a north west-facing cove backed by grassy golden sand dunes. The cliffs either side of the beach protect it from the wind, so it can often be the ideal choice if there is a chill in the breeze. A sandy beach opens out at low tide, which links up with smaller coves to the north and south of the beach.
- Car parking
- Beach shops
- Toilet facilities can be found nearby with level access to the beach.
- Porthcothan is a popular place for dog walkers as it permits owners to use the beach all year round.
Surfers rarely visit the beach in large numbers, as the surf is not particularly reliable, preferring either Constantine or Harlyn further up the coast.
